My appreciation for music started at an early age. I remember running around the house with my ukulele nagging anyone who was willing to listen. My musical repertoire has gotten much bigger since those days and the guitar has replaced the ukulele as the instrument of choice. I've been playing and writing music for over twenty years now. I firmly believe that music is a language all to it's self. It communicates to societies by passing cultural and ethnic identity through song and dance. It communicates to the "masses" through the radio and television. Most importantly, it communicates to the individual. For most of us, music is often associated with various events such as the first kiss or first break up. In this aspect, the song takes a back seat, serving as a "emotional" reference point. However, even music I have never heard previously can sometimes stir various emotions in me the very first time I hear it. In the past, I always viewed music produced electronically (computer, drum machine, sequencers) as rudimental and uninspiring. I've had the long held opinion that production of such music showcased programming abilities and not musical talent. That was until I met Kevin from Mutual Concepts. Through his advise and encouragement I was able to produce a few songs on my computer. If you would like to hear them just click on Axplayer's music . You can download or stream them. Please vote...if it sucks, just say it. It's the only way I'm gonna improve. |
